A beloved family-run business that’s been serving locals for over 15 years at a food court in PJ Old Town, it’s known for its delicious and affordable meals. Regulars highly recommend the roast chicken & roasted pork chicken rice, priced at around RM10 only — a true steal!

Its tender Hainanese steamed chicken rice, roasted chicken and roasted pork with its crunchy Ipoh bean sprout is said to be the main thing to order here. Plus, you can get a free bowl of soup when you order the chicken rice too.

Sunway University students will definitely know this place as it’s located right in front of the university. Hence, why parking can be a hassle here but it definitely comes highly recommended for being a unique chicken rice place. One of their appeals here is their fried garlic fried sprinkled on top of the tender roasted chicken which gives it that crunchy factor.  Don’t forget to try their roasted pork with fried garlic too.

Established in 1983, this father-and-son-run halal chicken rice stall—tucked inside a food court—comes highly recommended. Why? Their unique Horlicks sesame fried chicken. While the chicken rice may be slightly on the pricier side at RM19, many say the generous portion makes it well worth it. The whole chicken leg, coated in their signature Horlicks batter, delivers a crispy, juicy bite with a sweet-savory twist. Here, people mainly go for their  kampung poached chicken rice, crispy roast pork and the flavourful coconut chicken soup (recommended!). Parking can be limited here so plan ahead.

Their roasted chicken stands out for its generous portions and affordable pricing.
