Hello Foodies! We have some great news for you today! Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has begun distributing 1.7 million free face masks to households and shelters in the city! Each household will receive 4 pieces of masks.
The Mayor of KL, Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, told Bernama that face masks had been distributed to four public housing zones and 366 residents’ associations through DBKL branches, in 11 parliamentary constituencies since April 10.
Approximately 24 Million Face Masks To Be Distributed Nationwide
With the short supply of face masks due to the pandemic, our Defense Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said that approximately 24.62 million face masks will be distributed to the people nationwide for free! Awesome!
A Few Families Declined The Free Masks To Save More For Those That Needed It
If you’re wondering how this works, the chairman of Damai Bakti in Cheras, Zariffuddin Othman, said that he received a call from DBKL Bandar Tun Razak, asking him the number of houses in the area, so that they could prepare the face masks. He then went to collect 16 boxes and distributed it to 210 housing units.
He also added that some residences of Damai Bakti Cheras declined the free face masks as they have enough, and asked for it to be given to others that needed it more.
We are proud to see our Government all they can to curb the virus! As we are entering phase 3 of the movement control order, it is now more important than ever to do our part and stay in our homes. Let’s get this virus out of our country!
