This Local Artist Took The Internet By Storm With Her Preppy MCO Themed ‘Sampul Raya’

It's a not so Raya, Raya celebration.

As the MCO started roughly a month ago, our source of income is greatly jeopardized. Entrepreneurs and businesses have to put their operations to a halt. Putting them in a rather tough spot. No one is spared, not even this artist who makes a living out of selling her artworks and merchandise.

However, it didn’t stop Izzati Suza from being productive. That said, being in quarantine gave her a lot of time to let her imagination runs wild. You can see all of her hard work blooming on her social media accounts. Who would’ve thought that her innovative ideas of turning Malaysians everyday items into MCO themed designs were highly accepted and celebrated among the netizens.

According to her interview with mStar, Izzati Suza said that the ideas came to her when she wanted to draw something unique and suitable to the current situation

“Before, I have been designing ‘Sampul Raya’ since last year.” 2020 should be her second year to create Raya themed envelopes. But as the situation goes, the vibe is different this year. “Coincidently, at that time, the nation was at war specifically because of the viral gardenia bread issues. So I was inspired to infuse the bread design with a message,”

“I didn’t graduate in arts, but I did study architecture designing for two years. I had to stop halfway because my father got into an accident in 2015.” It was then that her art career started.
