Monday: Pasar Malam SS2

One of the best-known night market in Petaling Jaya and a foodie institution unto itself. This bustling Monday market roars with an array of street food, produce and crafty bits & pieces, making it the best go-to place for you to chase away the Monday blues. Try their Apam Balik that cost RM1- both thin and crispy and thick and soft are available. Another famous snack in this market is their Bakwa Sandwiches. Selling at RM3.70 per serving, the buttered bread is heated on a skillet with a choice of egg and then filled with chicken floss, chilli sauce, dried meat and cucumber.

This heaving strip of a weekday market stretching 2km – largely set down Taman Connaught in Cheras, and is being known as one of the longest night markets in KL! The market is occupied by 700 stalls and it will take you more than an hour to finish exploring the market. Street food, refreshments and produce of every shape abound, emptying the wallets of tourists and locals alike.

Consisting of more than 50 stalls in total, the fab fare is simply irresistible- from fictional books to affordable fabrics, fruity bits and tip-top chocolate chip cookies, definitely worth every penny.

Friday: Pasar Malam Seksyen 3 Kota Damansara

Located on Jalan Teknologi 3/6A, this night market takes up both sides of the road. This night market host stalls that sell groceries, clothes, and a variety of food. Expect plenty of varied street food vendors bringing a delicious selection of delectable cultural delights such as roti bom, nasi campur, char kuey teow, takoyaki and kuih muih. It’s not high-end dining for sure, but for an evening spent gorging on a number of different cuisines it can’t be beaten. This pasar malam closes at 9pm, earlier than the usual night markets. So head there early to experience it fully!

Officially the longest Pasar Malam in Malaysia. Stretching 2.3km long, Pasar Malam Setia Alam even made its mark in the Malaysia Book of Records! The stalls here serve a blend of Chinese and Malay cuisine with a little bit of everything else, all ready to satisfy your wildest gastronomical dreams. Foodies can get food like Okonomiyaki -Japanese pancakes, takoyaki – fried octopus balls, and Korean ddeobokki -spicy rice cakes from this market at a price below RM 10. Well, what are you waiting for? That’s a steal for sure!
