Razer Pay, a Malaysian e-wallet company, has announced it will be shutting down soon. After yesterday (6 August, 2021), Razer Pay will no longer be accepting new registrations, top-ups and peer-to-peer transfers. However, you have any Razer Card gift codes, you can still claim them until 31 August 2021.
Razer Pay is among 50 e-wallet companies in Malaysia
Razer Pay was launched in Malaysia in 2018 as a joint partnership between Razer and Berjaya Corporation Berhad. According to a statement released by the company, the beta, which ends on 30 September, 2021, has allowed the company to test-bed multiple products and features based on comments provided by its users and partners. Although the e-Wallet beta is available in Malaysia and Singapore, currently users cannot make payments outside of the country that they are registered in.
After the beta ends, Razer Pay will no longer be accessible after 1 October 2021. By 30 September 2021, users are required to withdraw their funds from their Razer accounts.
To withdraw funds, users may use the Razer app, go to Withdraw>Cash Out> Add Bank Account. Currently Razer pay only allows 5 transactions per day with a maximum withdrawal of RM 1,500 per day. Once a user fills in the bank account details, their funds will be transferred within five (5) business days.
For more information on the closure or withdrawal of funds, users may check out Razer Pay’s official FAQ or contact them directly via ‘support’ in the app or via the Live Chat. Additionally, the website’s FAQ section is also available in Bahasa Malaysia.
