10km Radius Restricted Travel Comes To An End During CMCO

It is announced that citizens are no longer restricted from traveling above 10km from their houses from today onwards. This comes after most states, including Kuala Lumpur, undergo the first day of Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob cleared the air about the 10km radius rule during the daily press update today.

In similar news, private cars can now have a maximum of four people in the vehicle. But, only people from one family living in the same house are allowed to do so. Ismail has mentioned that subsequent action will be taken against those who travel with passengers not belonging to the same household.

Even though the 10-km radius restrictive travel is lifted, interstate travel is still not allowed in the country. Ismail said that citizens who have sent in their application for interstate travel will only be given four days to travel. Starting from 7th May, those stranded in their hometowns can start travelling up to 10th May. After 10th May, only those who has obtain approval from police officials can travel interstate.

The scheduled dates to travel interstate for people whom have applied are as follow:

  • 7 May – People travelling from Kuala Lumpur
  • 8 May – People travelling from Perak, Johor & Kelantan
  • 9 May – People travelling from Penang, Melaka, Perlis, Kedah & Pahang
  • 10 May – People travelling from Selangor, Negeri Sembilan & Terengganu

The first day of CMCO has seen an obvious spike in amount of not only cars that are on the road but also the people. Yes, businesses are finally able to run and people are able to earn a living.
