Consider yourself a part of Ampang history when dining here, because Soo Kee Restaurant has been serving customers for over 30 years. Helmed by an elderly couple, this restaurant is famous for its melt-in-the-mouth honey glazed char siew (BBQ Pork).

Loke Yun Chicken Rice has been around since the 1980s, and it is hailed by locals and outsiders as Ampang’s best Chicken Rice Stall. The flavor and texture of the poached chicken served here is unlike any other – the chicken is smooth and tender; the sauce just the right amount of salty and sweet; with fragrant shallot oil doused over the chicken. A good side dish to have with your meal is the crunchy chicken intestines

Mr. Zaini of Zaini Satay is the grandson of the founder of Majid Satay, also dubbed as the “King of Satay”. These well marinated meat sticks are so skillfully grilled, that people from all over KL come to Ampang just for this.

What makes this place so good is the experience and skill that the cooks have honed throughout the years. Charred, spicy and flavourful – eating this tandoori chicken is worth the trip to Ampang.

This stall is well known for its wide selections of kuih-muih such as: Seri Muka, Tepung Pelita, Onde-Onde and much more. They also serve Malaysian breakfast favourites like: Roti Canai, Nasi Lemak and Mee Goreng.

Their style of frying it in loads of margerine has earned them a spot in the seven best Ramly burgers in the Klang Valley, voted by the Malay Mail. This stall is definitely worth a try if you happen to be around the area.
