A Historical Moment For Malaysia By Oriental Kopi

The record attempt will take place exclusively at IOI City Mall (West Court), where the team is targeting an ambitious 10,000 servings within just eight hours. To achieve this, the operation will need to maintain an intense pace of roughly one pack every two seconds — a feat that requires precise coordination, speed, and consistency throughout the day.

To encourage Malaysians to join in, each nasi lemak set will be offered at a special price of RM9.90, making it easy for everyone to take part in the record-setting attempt. Beyond just enjoying a good meal, visitors will also receive a limited-edition commemorative gold coin (while stocks last), created specially for the occasion.

As a token of appreciation, every purchase also comes with a RM2 Oriental Kopi voucher, while those who buy five servings in a single transaction will receive an exclusive glass cup designed to mark the milestone. Adding to the excitement, participants will also stand a chance to win a grand prize – the latest iPhone 17 Pro, through a lucky draw held during the event.

Celebrating Malaysia’s Iconic Dish

More than just a record-breaking challenge, the initiative reflects a larger vision to elevate nasi lemak onto the global stage. Widely regarded as Malaysia’s national dish, nasi lemak has long been a symbol of shared identity, bringing together people from all backgrounds through its familiar and comforting flavours.

What You Should Know Before You Go

The record attempt will be held strictly at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, and will not be available at any other Oriental Kopi outlets nationwide. All nasi lemak will be served in takeaway packaging for efficiency during the challenge, and the entire process will follow official Guinness World Records guidelines, including proper counting, documentation, and independent verification to ensure credibility.

This Labour Day, it’s more than just makan – it’s a chance to be part of something bigger. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick bite or going all in with multiple packs, every purchase contributes to a collective milestone that celebrates Malaysia’s most iconic dish.
