1. Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar

Located at The Troika (y’know, home to some of the most sophisticated restaurants in the city), Mr Chew’s is where Asian cuisine meets Latino flavours. Their inventive menu features the crowd-favourite Nori Taco, buns, buns and more buns, plus mains such as crispy skin duck confit with Szechuan orange plum sauce. 2. Beta KL

Recently nominated for a Michelin Star, Beta KL is one of those hidden restaurants you might walk past but never knew existed. What lies behind its main door is a world of fine dining that celebrates Malaysian flavours from east to west. There are two inter-seasonal menus available where one is more elaborate than the other, and each dish presents with its own origin story. Here, you’ll discover a side of Malaysian snacks, produce and desserts like never before. As an added bonus, the cocktails – curated by the bartender – are especially jolting.

3. Cafe-Bistrot David

Helmed by Chef David Chin, this French-inspired bistro brings Mediterranean flavours to the table with standout dishes comprising Tagliatelle Truffle Cream, Pan-seared Foie Gras, fresh seafood; even juicy Wagyu burgers. It’s the type of ideal date night that for a moment, resembles a Parisian escapade. 4. TenRyu

True Japanese foodies will certainly omaka-se yes to TenRyu (please appreciate this pun tq). The Kappo-style open kitchen is led by Chef Otomo Shinsuke who balances molecular gastronomy with Japanese fine dining, directly preparing and handing you each course. There are lunch and dinner menus, all serving fresh sashimi, hand rolls, dessert and other appetising affairs. Be prepared for an intimate experience, with both the banter-some Chef and of course, your partner.

5. Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar

Now if you really want a Spanish fiesta that subtly oozes seduction, here’s a Barcelonian spot for ya! Run by reputable Chef David from – you’ve guessed it – Barcelona, this restaurant is where locals turn to for freshly sliced Jamón Joselito Ibérico, Seafood Paella, Tapas and Patatas Bravas. What thoroughly completes your meal though, is 100% their extensive selection of Spanish/Mediterranean wines, gins and cava that’ll seal the date off with un besito.

Nestled in Chow Kit, JOLOKO’s a tantalising blend of hip, comfort and good vibes. 7. The Iron Fairies

Just like the novel by Ashley Sutton, The Iron Fairies KL offers an enchanting experience that’ll have you swooning in delight. Visually? Mesmerising. It’s almost as if Tinkerbell has sprinkled her fairy dust all over this place. The best part is that they shake up cocktails with cute names such as “Fairy’s revenge” and “Butterfly juice” so you know you’re in for a great time. Plus, there are live performances on certain days where the bands are actually fun!

10. Atmosphere 360

As the name suggests, this popular romantic restaurant lets you enjoy a 360° view of the city. Housed in KL Tower, it’s the highest revolving restaurant in South East Asia! The interior is akin to a spaceship, with starry fibre optic lights for an extra boost of sensuality. They serve lunch, hi-tea and dinner buffets exclusively, with a mix of Malaysian and Western cuisine. Stroll through Chinatown and you’ll discover this restaurant & bar in no time! Marrying Malaysian and other Asian cuisines, Wildflowers knows just how to please the tastebuds in both food and drink. Alright now this spot screams romance in a nutshell. Bold, well-lit interior (interchanging colours, hello!) paired with sumptuous fusion dishes and exciting cocktails = sexy. It’s hidden in the depths of W Hotel Kuala Lumpur, ergo there’s not much of a crowd on weekdays; you can spend some intimate time woo-ing your sweetheart. We know this list succinctly highlights charming date night locations, but if you must pick one with no fuss, it’s WOOBAR.

13. Pampas Reserve Steakhouse

At this premier Argentinian joint that’s tucked in the heart of KL, it’s all about meat – from ribeye to tomahawk, these well-seasoned cuts are sure to get your juices flowing. 14. The Tokyo Restaurant
