Takoyaki, or Octopus balls, is easily the most likable comfort snack from Japan. Made with their House Special Batter, the ball is filled with imported fresh cut octopus and pink pickled ginger. After it’s cooked, the Classic Takoyaki is slathered with their Signature Sauce and topped with Bonito Flakes & Nori Seaweed. Slightly sweet from the sauce, strong umami from the bonito flakes, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside; this Takoyaki presents different flavours and textures that will take your palate for a ride!

Gindaco also offers other exciting Takoyaki flavours such as Salted Egg Tako, Cheese Mentaiko.

With their first branch in SS2, Homi had opened another outlet in Gardens Mall many years ago and is still a favorite among regular shoppers! Although hard on the outside, the exterior crumbles as soon as you bite into it; leaving light crunchy flakes of buttery puff pastry in your mouth. Beneath it all is the most heart-warming tasting curry concoction, consisting of sliced chicken and potatoes. It isn’t spicy at all so don’t worry, there won’t be pain involved.

This larger-than-usual curry puff is something you wouldn’t want to miss! Homi also serves Sardine Puffs for those that prefer fish.

This place prides themselves in providing freshly steamed on-the-go dim sum snacks such as Siu Mai (pork dumpling), Lo Mai Kai (glutinous rice chicken), and their best seller: Cha Siu Bun (BBQ pork bun). Toasted Bread and Cheese? Count us in! Founded in Thailand, Say Chiizu’s signature product is the Hokkaido Cheese Toast. The “Original Cheese Toast” comes with a slice of their self-created Hokkaido Milk Bread filled with stringy Mozzarella Cheese! The milk bread is toasted on a griddle – resulting in a crispy slightly burnt crust, with the Mozzarella cheese warm and gooey from the heat. Crispy, soft, stretchy, sweet and salty; it has all the elements that constitutes a perfect Cheese Toast.

To achieve successful cheese-pull: wait a few seconds for the cheese inside to cool down, then pull the toast apart with your mouth and hands! The cheese toast also comes with other flavors such as: Milo Cheese, Oreo Cheese, Unicorn Fruit Toast and Strawberry Cheese.

We know, we know. Air Mata Kucing? Cat’s Eye Drink!? Don’t worry, it is just named after the main fruit used in this drink, called the Mata Kucing – which is very similar to the more well-known Longan fruit.

Originally from Petaling Street, Mou Tak Ding has been serving customers since 1978. The brown color of this drink comes from boiling a very interesting fruit, called the Lo Han Guo (Monk fruit). Wintermelon and sugar are also added to the aforementioned ingredients to add more flavor! Having the chance to drink a uniquely Malaysian beverage like Air Mata Kucing is an opportunity worth seizing.

Brownies Bar by The Accidental Bakers is the first store in Malaysia specializing in Brownies! Started in 2016, this store sells more than 10 different flavors of brownies!

We tried both the Classic and Salted Caramel brownie, and what we liked most about it is that it has just the right amount of sweetness. The texture of the brownie is sturdy on the outside, but soft and dense on the inside – the ideal texture of a well-baked brownie! Having tasted how good these classic brownies are, we will definitely be trying the other flavors soon.
