Happy Friday foodies! A long weekend is ahead of us as we unite and celebrate Merdeka. When Merdeka looms closer, we’ll see various ways Malaysians showcase their pride and love for this nation. While most Rakyat would fly the nation’s flag high and mighty, those in the F&B sector would often come up with a creative menu. To commemorate this day, AirAsia’s Santan collaborates with Crème De La Crème to roll out not 1, but 2 truly Malaysian ice cream flavours.

Santan Transforms Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Into An Ice Cream

Santan is no longer a stranger to foodies. In fact, there are 2 outlets right here in KL itself. The very first Santan restaurant opened its doors in Mid Valley Megamall to the public back in December 2019. Shortly after, a second outlet came to fruition in July 2020. Serving in-flight meals on land, everyone can now have a taste of airline food without a plane ticket.

One of the iconic dishes at Santan is Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak. This dish hits close to home because every Malaysian loves a good plate/pack of Nasi Lemak. Since Nasi Lemak is a truly Malaysian dish, what better way to celebrate Merdeka than by churning out an ice cream version of this dish right? Well, that’s exactly what Santan did.

Collaborating with Crème De La Crème, a local artisanal ice cream brand, Santan would be rolling out 2 iconic ice cream flavours. One is the Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak flavour while the other is the Pandan Dodol ice cream. Dying to try these flavours out? Good news, because they’re already available at both Santan outlets starting from today, 28th August 2020.
