Berjaya Tioman Resort Will Officially Cease Its Operations On 15th June 2020

However, for this post, we’re conveying a regrettable piece of news. Berjaya Tioman Resort in Pahang will be shutting its doors on 15th June.

Berjaya Tioman Resort Is Officially Shutting Its Doors In 3 Days

The resort is located in Kampung Tekek and comprises of 268 rooms and suites. Berjaya Tioman Resort has been around for over 50 years on Pulau Tioman, one of the pristine beaches in Malaysia. It is managed by Berjaya Hotels and Resorts, a division of Berjaya Land Berhad. Berjaya Land is a subsidiary of Berjaya Corporation Berhad.

According to its official announcement on Facebook, the management team attributes its closure to this:  “Unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic which has adversely impacted the tourism industry.”

“Throughout this closure, the management will embark on a much-needed major redevelopment to revitalize the resort which is more than 50 years old, ” according to the announcement.

So, if any of you have spent a weekend getaway over at Berjaya Tioman Resort, you’ll most likely reminisce its sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, and lush tropical forest. In 3 days, it’s time to bid farewell to the resort.
