Nanjing Street at Sunway Velocity is known for their wide array of F&B specialising in authentic Chinese cuisine, most of which serve steaming hotpot. Nanjing Street was also deemed as Malaysia’s biggest hotpot town as they had at least 10 different types of hotpot gathered in one spot. However, with the ongoing global pandemic and lockdown in place since last year, the place is not as bustling as it was two years ago.

The businesses here that have put up ‘For Sale’ banners consist mainly of F&B operators, many selling uniquely authentic Chinese cuisine. From hotpot to stews and lamian (hand-pulled noodles), some of these spots struck a core in netizens whom frequently visited for some good comfort food.

Besides F&B operators, businesses such as convenience marts and beauty shops were also seen to have closed down for good. Of course, this may have been expected for many since beauty parlours that specialises in services such as manicure, pedicures, facials and even hair salons are not allowed to operate for months till this day.
