This Delivery Man Took Stunning Photos Of Empty Streets Around Klang Valley During MCO

Modern Ghost Town Vibes

Hello, foodies! People eat with their eyes first, don’t they? Especially when it comes to food, some (if not all) might agree that our eyes eat first and our mouths second. Well, look close because we’ve got a series of photos for your eyes to feast on. Here’s the catch: not one of these photos have food in them. Are you curious yet? If you are, keep scrolling and feed your eyes only this time.

Kuala Lumpur is the heart of the Klang Valley and being Malaysia’s capital, you’d think that it will never stop bustling. Things have definitely taken a 360° turn because the Covid-19 pandemic has had everyone across the globe cooped up inside their homes. This resulted in what used to be city night life and busy streets into something that now mirrors a ghost town.

Our country has been under the Movement Control Order (MCO) for the past 65 days in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The economy sector took some down time as businesses were closed and were not allowed to operate. This left the country at a standstill for almost over two months. If we could put it into words, we’d say that our country’s busiest areas fell silent and there wasn’t a human in sight. And, if we could show it to you, these photos would be an accurate representation of what we said.

Can you recognise where these places are? If you couldn’t, don’t worry because some of us can’t either. Empty streets around Kuala Lumpur isn’t a common sight we would behold on any average day. But, are things going to be normal or average anymore? We certainly hope they would but it looks like things will never be the same. Or rather, things won’t look the same.

Are We Moving Back To A (New) Normal?

Although these photos are a reminder of what (bad) has happened, it also shows us how our country is healing. Because the streets were empty, that meant that all of us were safe in the comfort of our own homes. Staying home was no small feat because we were all doing it for each other, and for Malaysia. As things slowly move back to a new normal now, here’s the lesson to be learnt: don’t take things for granted and be grateful for what was and now also, what is. Bye for now, foodies!
