Just a few months back, the first McDonald’s had finally opened in the cool breezy mountains of Cameron Highlands. Fast forward to today, and we have exciting news for everyone looking to pay this place a visit soon. The very first outdoor theme park is coming to the highlands very soon!
Cameron Highlands Will Have A Brand NEW Theme Park Soon
ESCAPE Cameron Highlands will be unlike any other theme parks in the country. A nature-based adventure park built into the natural topography of Cameron Highlands.
ESCAPE Cameron Highlands is a joint project by Sim Leisure Group and Hektar Muda Sdn Bhd. The official signing ceremony of ESCAPE Cameron Highlands was officiated by Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Dato’ Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri earlier today.
It was announced that ESCAPE Cameron Highlands will adopt an European-themed environment in Malaysia. So that Malaysians can experience Europe without travelling out of Malaysia. It will also rely 100% on renewable energy to operate, making it an eco-friendly theme park.
Attractions you can expect are the FIRST dry ski slope in Malaysia with a 1.2km slope with a 920m high ski lift. It features crowd-favourite ESCAPE Gravity Play slides and attractions in all new exciting ways against the scenic hills of Cameron Highlands. European games will also be introduced on par with the European theme, such as Street bowling, Chasing after the cheese and more. Of course, there will also be popular F&B vendors and glamping accommodations on the premise.

ESCAPE Cameron Highlands will open in 3 phases. Phase 1 will take 15 to 18 months, assuming that development starts at the end of this year. Then, the theme park will open in the first half of 2023. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will be carried out subsequently. New attractions will be introduced in each phase as well.
There are currently two ESCAPE Theme Park in Malaysia itself, one in Penang and the other in Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya. If you didn’t know, the ESCAPE Theme Park in Penang currently has a Guinness World Record of the longest water slide in the world.
