e-Tunai Rakyat 2020 is an initiative by the Government of Malaysia, to promote the usage of e-wallets in the country. From 15 January 2020 (which is today), the government will be giving RM30 to all eligible Malaysians, which can be claimed from one of the participating wallets. Grab, Boost & Touch n’ Go have been selected to participate in the Government’s e-Tunai Rakyat programme.
The campaign will kickstart on Jan 15, 2020 and will run for 2 months until March 14, 2020. Claims can be made and fully utilised within the 2 months time frame, NST reported.
e-Tunai Rakyat Malaysia 2020’s Eligibility:
- A Malaysian citizen
- 18 years or older (as of 31 Dec 2020)
- Earning less than RM100,000 (for 2018)

You can use the RM30 in GrabPay Wallet on Grab Rides, GrabFood, GrabMart, GrabExpress, GrabPay Price and GrabRewards.
2. Boost
You can start to claim your RM30 e-Tunai Rakyat on Boost e-Wallet App from 15 Jan 2020.

e-Tunai Malaysia 2020
This program aims to encourage Malaysians to opt for digital payments for a safer, cashless, and efficient transaction, whether you’re a customer or a small business owner. Through this program, the government has allocated a budget of RM450 million to distribute a one-off RM30 digital incentive to 15 million eligible Malaysians which can be used at any participating merchants.
*Please bear in mind you can only claim e-Tunai Malaysia 2020 from only one out of the three e-wallet platforms.
