How to Apply for DE Rantau?

Getting started on the DE Rantau program is simple. Here’s how:

  1. Check Your Eligibility:
    • Open to  local and foreign nationals who work remotely (ie. Digital freelancers, independent contractors, or full-time remote workers).
    • All applicants will need to provide proof of employment or freelance work and meet the minimum income criteria as defined in the application info..
  2. Submit Your Application:
    • Apply for the DE Rantau Nomad Pass via the official DE Rantau portal on the MDEC website.
    • For local digital nomads, the application is free and once approved  they can tap into the growing digital nomad community in Malaysia.
    • For foreign digital nomads, the application for DE Rantau Passis RM 1,000 for the main applicant and RM500 for each dependent. Once approved, the pass will allow them to  stay for 3 to 12 months, with an option to renew for another 12 months based on the employment contract duration
