JPJ: All Road Users Must Renew Expired Driving License & Road Tax Before 30 Sept 2021

TL;DR

According to the Road Transport Department (JPJ), all road users with expired driving license must renew their license before 30 September 2021.
There will be no more extensions after 30 September 2021.
JPJ also urges vehicle owners to do renewals online via MySikap JPJ or MyEG portal.
In addition, vehicle owners whose road taxes have expired have to ensure they have valid insurance coverage and can produce e-cover note upon request by authorities when on the road.

JPJ: All Expired Driving License Must Be Renewed By 30 Sept

According to The Star, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) said that all road users must renew their expired licences before 30 September 2021. These licences include, the Competent Driving Licences (CDL), Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM or road tax), Goods Driving Licence (GDL), and the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) license. In addition, there will be no more extensions given after 30 September 2021.

“Checks on compliance and enforcement by JPJ enforcers will start from 1 October 2021 onwards,” JPJ said in a statement released on Wednesday, 4 August. JPJ also urges vehicle owners to do renewals online via MySikap JPJ or MyEG portal.

Step 1: Open MyEG portal and log in or create an account to start renewal process.

Step 2: Once you log in, click on the Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) icon.

Step 3: Click on Driving License Renewal (CDL) button.

Step 4: Read the terms and conditions, then click “proceed”.

Step 5: Fill-in your details, then click “proceed” again.

Step 6: Check your details & payment information to ensure they are correct before you click “proceed”.

Step 7: Click the “I agree” button to confirm you agree to the terms and then click “proceed”.

Step 8: Choose your payment method and pay.
