Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Has Decided To Forgo Royal Emoluments For 6 Months Starting March 2020
According to the Comptroller of the Royal Household for Istana Negara, this decision was made to ease the economic burden that the country has been facing in handling the Covid-19 outbreak, said Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin. Besides that, this decision was also in line with the Cabinet’s decision to cut salaries for two months.
Their Majesties Also Express Their Gratitude Towards Doctors And Healthcare Staff, Especially Frontliners On Their Sacrifices
Aside from deciding to forgo their royal emoluments for 6 months, Their Majesties also took the time to express their appreciation towards doctors and healthcare staff. Their Majesties’ appreciation is also very much extended to frontliners on their sacrifices in their efforts to contain the pandemic.

In a closing statement, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said that the King also hoped that the people will continue to be with both Their Majesties, in praying for mercy of Allah SWT for His blessings as well as for the pandemic to end very soon.
