Well, if you are a Mango cake enthusiast and you have extra RM1600 to spare, head over to Tom’s Restaurant in Kuching, Sarawak to have a taste of it!
RM1600 Mango Cake At Tom’s Restaurant?!
So, what’s so great about this cake that it has to be so expensive? That’s because they are making it with the world’s most expensive mango, Japanese Miyazaki Mango. If you haven’t heard about it, one Miyazaki can cost over RM200 in the market and Tom’s Restaurant is using 4 of them to make this premium cake. What makes Miyazaki mangoes so special is these mangoes are carefully and strictly picked and tested to pass the highest quality check and ensure that they are the standards of Miyazaki. Rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene, and folic acid, only the standards are called the Miyazaki which has the meaning of the ‘Eggs of Sun’. A prefecture ripe mango in Japan, that explains the price!

If a whole cake is too much for you, you can also buy it in slices. The restaurant is selling it at RM180 per slice which is nothing cheaper but remember, it’s made with Miyazaki Mangoes!

The Japanese Miyazaki Mango Cake is now on limited sales. For Foodies who are interested to buy the cake, you may make a reservation with the restaurant before your visit. Other than the premium mango cake, Tom’s Restaurant is also selling a variety flavour of cakes and serving an array of western cuisines. So, do pay the restaurant a visit for the cakes and some good food.
