“JAKIM halal certification has always been an important goal for KyoChon 1991 since we launched the brand in Malaysia back in December 2013. We’re extremely fortunate that our franchisor supported us and invested in a multi-million dollar automated factory to produce the KyoChon 1991 sauces and seasonings. This meant that KyoChon 1991 customers in Malaysia can enjoy the same taste and quality of ingredients as if they were dining in KyoChon 1991 in Korea as all sauces and marinades come from the same halal factory!
We are so grateful to Malaysians because their support has enabled us to grow to 35 stores nationwide today. As Malaysia’s pioneering Korean fried chicken chain, we are genuinely thankful that Malaysians have made us the most successful KyoChon 1991 operator outside of Korea and we want to assure all Malaysians that we have always adhered to the highest food and safety standards and are delighted to now officially be certified halal by JAKIM as a brand that you can trust. To celebrate this momentous milestone, we are pleased to offer all our customers 15% off when dining with us this month,“ said Terry Goh, the Chief Executive Officer of KyoChon 1991 Malaysia.
Halal certification holds immense significance in Malaysia, as it demands rigorous efforts and meticulous processes for the food and beverage industry to obtain it. While the process is an extensive one, KyoChon 1991 Malaysia is dedicated to being a brand that Malaysian diners can trust.
All of their restaurants have already undergone the auditing process by JAKIM. KyoChon 1991 Malaysia will be announcing more halal certified restaurants very soon.
