Nasi Lemak Maklong Double Steams Their Rice With Coconut Milk And Pandan Leaves
To get the most flavour and fluffiness out of the rice, they steam it twice with their original fresh coconut milk and pandan leaves – it adds a creaminess to the rice texture.
They Offer Quail Eggs Sambal Among Many Other Add-Ons
There are many types of lauk you can add to your nasi lemak: beef/chicken rendang, sambal sotong, cockles sambal, and a unique quail eggs sambal. On top of that, prices here are affordable too, with a plate of Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong costing RM5 and Nasi Lemak Rendang for only RM6.50.
Nasi Lemak Maklong Has Traditional Kuihs, Lontong And Popia Basah Too
Apart from nasi lemak, they do offer lots of traditional kuihs such as onde-onde, baduk berendam, boko ubi and kuih keria drenched in gula melaka. The kuih keria is handmade from mashed sweet potato, and then deep fried and coated with sweet gula melaka.
Pair your meal with popia basah and lontong (vegetables and nasi impit in coconut milk broth) available here. The handmade popia filled with peanuts, fried shallots and vegetables is available for only RM5 for 3 big pieces.
