In recent news, the Shah Alam LRT Line (LRT3) that will connect Klang and Shah Alam residents to the existing Klang Valley rail network is estimated to begin operations at the start of March in 2025.
LRT3 Line Expected To Start Operations From March 1, 2025
Transport Minister Anthony Loke states that, “construction and civil work on the 20 stations are over 80% complete, with most of the remaining work in the installation and testing of the key systems like signalling.” In retrospect, construction on the highly anticipated new line is progressing well with 25 new stations to link from Johan Setia in Klang to Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya.
Following this further, he explains that, “22 new three-coach trains for the line are also fully built and are undergoing test runs to ensure their consistent performance after the line’s launch.”
Once operational, these new trains will be able to travel for up to 80 kmph and are expected to enable up to 18,630 passengers to reach their destinations efficiently in timely manners within every hour. Loke also added that passengers can even switch to Kelana Jaya LRT at Glenmarie station and to Kajang MRT at Bandar Utama with this new line.
Evidently, this soon to be launched line, which was first announced way back in 2013 aims to become a beneficial key addition in order to improve the overall public transportation network within Klang Valley.
“The 37 km-long line is expected to serve over two million residents in western Klang Valley,” said Loke.
