This just in! Rapid KL has launched a new women’s coach on the MRT Putrajaya line that will begin operations starting from today (8 April, 2024).
Rapid KL Introduces New Women’s Coach On MRT Putrajaya Line
In a Facebook post, Rapid KL states that the new pink-coloured women’s coach is set in the middle of each train in their Putrajaya and Kajang Line. It will take up half of coaches 2 and 3 to align with the platform queue.
To further clarify, Rapid KL also detailed that young boys under the age of 12 who are with female guardians can sit in the coach. Patrons with disabilities and their caretakers are allowed to sit in any coach including this new women’s coach on the train as well.
With bright pink stickers and signs on the coach’s floors and doors, the women’s coach is easy to locate as it sets itself apart in stark contrast from unmarked coaches.
Rapid KL aims to facilitate a safer and more comfortable commuting journey for women with this new women’s coach initiative in their MRT Putrajaya trains.
They mentioned that this initiative had been successful in other countries such as New Delhi, Jakarta, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai and Mexico City. This is definitely a valuable initiative. Check it out ladies!
