TL;DR
- Interstate travel is only allowed for the following reasons:
- Work
- Emergencies
- Death (limited to close family members only; mother and father, children and siblings)
- Medication
- Education
- Long-distance couples (married only)
- Approved interstate travel permit(s) can be used from Monday to Thursday only (use on weekends are not allowed, unless under special circumstances ie. death).
- Interstate travel for any social activities whatsoever is strictly not allowed.
- Regarding Ramadan bazaars and night markets: Stringent checks will be carried out regularly in each district for compliance of SOPs by the public and vendors.

PDRM: Use Of Interstate Travel Permit Valid From Monday To Thursday Only
Polis Diraja Malaysia has released a news statement via their official Facebook page about the new and updated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for interstate travel. In a two-page statement, the new ruling states that interstate travel is only allowed for several reasons*. See below for full statement from PDRM (picture attached).
