The Pinkfish Countdown, a curated adventure by Hitman Solutions and Happymoon, marked the pinnacle of New Year’s Eve celebrations, setting the stage for an epic commencement of 2024. Taking place at Surf Beach, Sunway Lagoon, the event drew in throngs of electro music fans eager to dance to the beats of both EDM legends and local talents.

Over 13,000 LAVAs, the nickname given to avid Pinkfish fans, gathered from Malaysia and beyond Asia, converging to revel in their favourite tunes while showcasing the best in fashion as they flaunted their finest holographic and pink looks, in theme with the event’s dress code, ‘Holographic Resolutions’.
The Pinkfish Countdown kicked off with Ralph’s amazing set followed by electrifying plays by Sentralize, Mister Ariffin & Haikal Ahmad back to back. The crowd enthusiastically hyped up the homegrown heroes, underscoring the deep-rooted love for the local music scene.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Andrew Rayel steered the audience into a mesmerising trance journey during his exclusive sunset set. With pulsating beats and chart-toppers such as ‘Horizon’ and ‘I Wish,’ he set the stage for the thrilling performances to come throughout the night.
Kicking off the nighttime setlist, Jeffrey Sutorius took the stage to deliver an electrifying performance that had festival-goers on their feet. The final local talent to show off their chops was BATE; the duo proved why they’re a fan favourite with an exciting set of seamless beats and butter-like transitions.
Closing in on the final performance, with international-level displays of skills that had the audience captivated, Coone’s spins had the crowd in motion. The energy was palpable, with all attendees eagerly waiting for what was to come; the performance and the dawn of a new year.
Headlining the Pinkfish Countdown, KSHMR opened his set to a roaring crowd, proving his status as a headliner. Accompanied by an amazing light and pyrotechnics show, KSHMR left everyone awe-struck. Despite being the last act, he left the audience craving more, featuring all-time hits like ‘Secrets,’ ‘Wildcard,’ ‘Dharma,’ and many more.
Amidst the enthralling set, the countdown to the new year began. United as one, cheers of “3…2…1” signified a moment of indescribable togetherness, followed by a spectacular seven minutes show of vibrant fireworks that illuminated the night skies, making the headliner set even more memorable.
The hype carried on with KSHMR continuing his set for an extra hour, giving the New Year celebrants more time to dance and embrace the festive vibes.
