Hey foodies, how are you? We’ve come to yet another foodventure, this time around, drinks. If you’re looking for a chill out spot after a meal or a quick break in between, this one’s for you. We’ve recently tried out Presotea, a new spot in Petaling Jaya. So if you have tea to spill, better do it while sipping some fine Presotea.
A Brief on Presotea:
While the name sounds pretty local, Presotea comes from the land of boba, that’s right Taiwan and currently has over 400 outlets worldwide, making them the largest premium fresh tea chain. Fun Fact: they’re one of the first to incorporate freshly brewed tea in making their drinks, meaning every cup of drink is made-to-order. Instead of an espresso machine, they have a “tea machine” to brew a fresh cup of drink, get it?
The brand strives to deliver an honest, high quality option of refreshing drinks, which explains their straightforward branding. A clean facade with comfortable ambiance, Presotea serves some pretty good drinks at a wallet-friendly price point, with more than 10 different tea leaves to choose from.
Our Favourite:
We’ve ordered quite a bit to get a more thorough review, but Panda Milk Tea (RM6.90) is hands down one of our favourite. Made with premium Ceylon tea, the milk tea was silky, with a strong tea aroma that lingered in our mouth. As a milk tea addict, the flavor and color of this on point, and the pearls had a right consistency.
Matcha Latte with Red Bean & White Pearl (RM10.50) was equally good in our opinion. Considering the price, the flavor did not disappoint. It has a really good matcha profile, like the ratio of matcha to milk was perfect and not overly sweet. The red bean topping definitely helped in boosting the creaminess and natural sweetness of the drink.
One of Presotea’s bestsellers, the Signature Fruit Tea (RM8.90) that was recommended to us topped the chart when it comes to quenching thirst. The White Peach Oolong Tea base was really fragrant with hints of sweet-sourish peach. You can even find slices of fresh cut fruits in it which made it more refreshing, a healthier cooler we would say.

As mentioned, we ordered quite a bit. A boba joint is never one without the infamous brown sugar milk tea. Presotea’s Brown Sugar Black Pearl Latte (RM7.50) had all the flavors, and is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and camera. Need a kick of caffeine? You can always order the same drink with tea, Royal Earl Grey Tea Latte with Brown Sugar (RM8.50).
Mango Cream Cheese with Grapefruit (RM11.50) is rather new on the menu. While cream cheese with mango and grapefruit sound odd, we find the flavor interesting, and surprisingly smooth. It was refreshing and yet creamy, with a tad of salty aftertaste.
Creme Brulee Milk Tea (RM11.50) is great for someone who’s on a cheat day. This rather heavy drink wasn’t overly sweet, with yogurt-like consistency, we heard they’re quite popular on the menu. Besides that, Presotea also offers a range of thirst-quenching, quality teas like Alishan tea from only RM5.90.
We started with something sweet, it only makes sense to end with a sweet tooth. The tea flavoured Soft Serve (RM4.90) was truly enjoyable, we would get a whole tub if possible. Silky smooth soft serve with strong aroma of tea, the flavors exploded on our taste buds the moment it entered our mouth, we highly recommend trying this out.
Verdict on Presotea:
We highly recommend giving Presotea a shot. Unlike many overpriced boba joints, this one serves quality drinks at an affordable price. It’s their first store in Malaysia, so show them some support and love. PS: Don’t forget their softserve! That’s all, tag all your buddies and let them know about this awesome place.
