A Winner In The World Steak Challenge 2019

To justify how good this steak is, the Devesa won a global competition called the World Steak Challenge in 2019 –  signifying the superior quality of the beef! Known for its fat marbling, the 120 days grain fed cattle are raised in the Argentinian Pampas Region with world class pastures since 1840.

PRIME Le Méridien Offers 5 Different Cuts Of Devesa Beef

I had the pleasure to try out all 5 different cuts of the Devesa Argentine Beef here at PRIME. Out of all 5, the one that stood out for me is the Matambre (340g/ RM180nett). This ultra tender & thin cut of meat is sourced  between the skin and the ribs, and is prepared in a three-step cooking process. It is marinated in milk for 24 hours to break down its fibre, sous-vide, and finally seared on the grill. You really don’t need any teeth to bite into this!

The other cut that I’ve never tasted before was the Bavette (600g/ RM200nett) – a flavourful, loosely textured flat cut of meat from the abdominal muscle of the cow. It’s simple to eat as it is cut thin, and I thoroughly enjoyed how rich in flavour this cut of meat was.

Those that enjoy a nice and juicy fat-cap on top of their steak with adequate marbling can try out the Ribeye (340g/RM230nett) and Sirloin (340g/RM200nett). Both comes served with tasty beef jus, grilled asparagus and potato wedges.

Finally, if you’re not fond of fat and prefer a leaner cut, you can opt for the Tenderloin (220g/ RM250nett). When it comes to a lean cut like Tenderloin, it is best to go for medium-rare to medium, just to ensure the juiciness and tenderness of the beef.

Pair Your Beef With A Variety Of Sides And Dipping Sauces

Usually you get a little mustard on the side for your steak, but the preferred sauce to dip this particular steak is the Argentinian Chilli Chimichurri. This spicy yet fragrant chilli oil sauce pairs so well with the Argentine Beef cuts! For more regular sides, try out the Sautéed Broccoli, Confit Potato, Truffled Mashed Potato and Sautéed Spinach.

Offer Lasts Till 30 September

Overall, I had an amazing experience trying out the special Devesa Argentine Beef at PRIME Le Méridien KL. Every single cut of beef was delicious, and on top of that, the sides and sauce pairings were great. Don’t forget, the offer only lasts till 30 September so hurry, make a reservation!
