The Chow Kit Reconnect This Raya Menu
There are 3 different set meals available – the Berbuka Platter (RM150), Seasonal Platter (RM300), and Family Platter (RM500) – but private rooms are only applicable to those that order the Seasonal and Family platter. The Berbuka Platter will be served at The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar downstairs in the lobby.
All platters come with dishes inspired from four popular food states in Malaysia – Johor, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perak. The meal starts with Kurma (red dates), a variety of Kuih Melayu, an Ulam Salad with Sambal, Keropok (fish crackers), and Nasi Bunga Telang to accompany the mains.
For the mains, there’s the creamy crab cooked in coconut milk and Asian spices called Ketam Masak Lemak, and a slow-cooked beef from Perak known as Rendang Tok. Other highlights of the platter is their Lamb Kuzi recipe from Kelantan, which is a tender lamb shoulder braised in yogurt, tomatoes and spices; the Curry Fish Tenggiri simmered in belacan and spices; and fresh Assam Udang cooked in a rich gravy of ginger, tamarind and kesum leaves.
Noodle lovers will be delighted with the Laksa Johor made with dry mackerel, spaghetti topped with bean sprouts, long beans and ginger. And finally, the meal will be completed with a refreshing Red Sago Pudding with ice cream.
The Chow Kit Platters
Apart from the Ramadan menu, BBQ lovers can check out their grilled seafood and meat platter called Best of Both Worlds! It comes with Grilled Squid marinated with turmeric and daun cekur; a Whole Red Snapper or Seabass sourced from Sekinchan; BBQ Ayam Kampung with coconut percik glaze; and BBQ Spare Ribs with galangal and star anise.
