For those who didn’t know, The Chow Kit – An Ormond Hotel, is a boutique hotel named after one of Malaysia’s popular tourist areas. They’ve recently won Malaysia’s Best Boutique Hotel 2022 by World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year!
Their in-house resto-bar, The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar, is designed to honour the essence of multiculturalism of Malaysian cuisine. This year, they’ve curated a list of exciting menus for the year-end holiday, with a local approach.
The highlight, The Chow Kit Platters offers not one, but THREE options that could satisfy every palate. From The Sea presents a selection of fresh chargrilled seafood marinated with local herbs and spices to best complement the sweet flavours of the sea.
From The Land, on the other hand, is specially created for meat lovers. Indulge in a selection of prime tender meats chargrilled in a mix of local herbs and spices.
Couldn’t decide between the two? Their Best of Both Worlds includes a list of chef’s favourites for those who don’t discriminate between surf or turf, and will definitely impress your guests with different preferences.
All platters are perfect to share up to 3-4 pax, served with 2 portions of nasi ulam & signature house-made sambal merah & sambal hijau, and comes with bottomless mocktails for 4 pax.
Introducing the latest addition to their menu, the Australian Angus Tomahawk. A chargrilled steak cooked perfectly to your liking, served with their signature sides, and house-made sambal sauces.

Unwind Like A Rich Tai Tai At The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar
Treat yourself and your friends to delectable sweet and savoury treats in a stylish ambience with The Chow Kit’s Afternoon High Tea. From RM88 on Mondays to Thursdays and RM108 on Fridays to Sundays, indulge in a selection of freshly made desserts that include their Sago Gula Melaka, Ube Seri Muka, Pineapple Cheesecake, Banana Eclair and Mini Fruit Tart.
When the season allows, the Mini Fruit Tart is replaced with their reimagined local delicacy, Cempedak Puffs. The selection of savoury finger food includes Mini Chicken Burger, Hot Wings, and Mild Wings.
Enjoy the set by adding on free-flow juices, mocktails or house-pour wine for heightened luxury. Their Afternoon High Tea set is perfect to share up to 2-3 pax, with coffee and tea included. Available daily from 3pm-5pm.
Psst, look out for The Chow Kit Sunday Roast hosted on 30 October, 27 November and 18 December which features a very generously sized Australian grain-fed rib served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, brussels sprouts and gravy, Mark your calendar and book ahead and treat your taste buds to a feast of flavours!
