This Hidden Restaurant In PJ Will Transport You To Japan With Their Variety Of Yakitori & More

Hidden restaurants and bars have been all the rage in Malaysia. It exudes a sense of mystery, and keeps you wondering what lies behind closed doors. Well, we’ve found a fairly new place to discover that’ll take you straight to Japan with its bountiful menu of yakitori, wagyu dishes and more!

Tobu Sake Bar Is Where You Go For A Gorgeous Japanese Experience

Tucked away in Damansara Uptown is Tobu Sake Bar, recently opened just last year. Upon entry, we were greeted by a torii, aka traditional Japanese gate. The atmosphere instantly brought us to, well, Japan! As we walked in, there were mini torii decorations covering one side of the wall where customers have doodled on while sake bottles lined the top.

Their menu is extensive, focusing on yakitori selections albeit non-traditional items such as Japanese-inspired pastas were also available. Here’s what we tried:

Yakitori

As aforementioned, their range of skewers are plentiful. They present them in a box for you to choose from so you’d be able to see what they look like before ordering.

Wagyu Don

This classic dish has a generous amount of medium-rare wagyu atop rice, with an egg yolk, onion, spring onions and sesame seeds.

Capellini Wagyu

In a twist to regular pastas, the chef cooks the capellini in beef jus giving it a natural and aromatic flavour. Served with Premium Wagyu.

Capellini Truffle

Another capellini dish to try is this- it comes with three types of truffle ingredients such as truffle slices, truffle pate and truffle oil!

Sizzling Pork

Doused in sake, this sizzling plate consists of smoked pork that’s packed with flavour.

Garlic Fried Rice with Gyoza

This delicious set comes with a bowl of fried rice alongside six pieces of gyoza, kimchi, and onsen egg.

Sukiyaki

A hearty, sumptuous soup with slices of beef, vegetables, shiitake mushrooms and egg.

For light appetisers/snacks, try out their Chicken Kaarage, Pickled Cabbage or Crispy Enoki!

Finish off your meal with a sweet Matcha ice cream dessert.

Of course, you can’t visit Tobu Sake Bar without trying out some of their many sakes. Alternatively, they also serve highball, beer and more.

Private Karaoke Rooms

At Tobu Sake Bar, you can enjoy a good ol’ private karaoke sesh with your friends and family. They have two rooms – large and small – where there’s plenty of room to relax on the sofa or at the table.

Good Food & Drinks With A Daily Live Band

That’s right- there’s a live band/singer performance everyday at Tobu Sake Bar too!
