TREC KL was one of the go-to nightlife spots for Malaysians and tourists to unwind and have a drink. The huge multi-million F&B entertainment center houses over 30 restaurants, bars, convenient stores and clubs such as Zouk. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, what was once a nightlife hotspot buzzing with energy, became a quiet hub with not one outlet open in sight.
TREC KL Is Badly Affected By The Pandemic
After speaking to a representative from TREC, we found out that most of the establishments here fall under liquor/entertainment licenses. Therefore they’re not able to operate at all under the current MCO regulations. However, there are some restaurants with restaurant licenses that are able to operate, but prefer to halt operations due to risk and uncertainties.
TREC Are Providing Help To Tenants
To help businesses stay afloat, the management are providing relief in the form of rental waivers until they can reopen again – similarly to what shopping malls are doing to help their tenants. We wish TREC good luck and hope that they will be able to weather the storm.
