Tune Hotel klia2 beat seasoned and international hotel groups to win the prestigious ‘ASIA’S LEADING AIRPORT HOTEL 2019’ award at the 2019 World Travel Awards™ ceremony held in Phu Quoc, Vietnam on 12th October 2019.
The hotel edged out a few of the region’s strongest contenders including South Korea’s Grand Hyatt Incheon and also knocked off Hong Kong Marriott Airport Hotel from the top spot which it held for the past 6 years.
Tune Hotel klia2 has now been nominated as a contender in the category of ‘World’s Leading Airport Hotel 2019’ alongside international brand hotels such as Hilton London Heathrow Airport, Millennium Airport Hotel Dubai and Parkroyal Melbourne Airport.
World Travel Awards™ was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Today, the World Travel Awards™ brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence and 2019 marks its 26th anniversary.
“This win validates our belief that airport hotels should be more than just a functional space to sleep. We’ve set out to make airport hotels fun, and we are thrilled with this award. We are delighted and humbled that our efforts are recognised and appreciated by our guests who voted for us,” Tune Hotels CEO Navin Singh said.
Tune Hotel klia2 replicates the brand’s new approach to guest experience. Its rejuvenation started in February 2017 with the introduction of new premium rooms and all-day dining restaurant, MAKAN. It was complemented by MINUM sports bar, a chic minimalist spa – REHAT, and a bodega style Grab & Go. To give the hotel a sense of place, artwork from Malaysian and regional artists, on loan from private collections, hang on its walls. All of this connects to a 24/7 open-air courtyard perfect for transit travelers frequenting the KLIA and klia2 Terminals. Specifically for transit travelers, Tune Hotel klia2 has created various packages which include a VIP Fast Track Pass. Tune Hotel klia2 is a certified green building highlighting our commitment to sustainable building design and operations.
Ormond Group CEO, Gareth Lim said “Since its inception, the Tune Hotels experience has always been based on 5 key promises to our guests: free high-speed wifi, super comfy beds, hot power showers, clean rooms and 24 hour security. We are excited to elevate the experience by introducing great design and guest experience to appeal to even the most discerning of global travelers.”
