Tune Hotel Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA-KLIA2) and The Chow Kit – an Ormond Hotel have been recognised as trailblazers in hospitality by the World Travel Awards (WTA).
Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 secured awards for both Asia and Malaysia’s Best Airport Hotel 2023, beating established international contenders such as Grand Hyatt Incheon, Radisson Blu Plaza Delhi and Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott. This year marks the fourth year of recognition by WTA since 2019 and underscores Tune’s commitment to excellence and its consistent delivery of exceptional service. The Tune brand has become synonymous with comfort, convenience and affordability since its inception in 2016, focusing on providing high-quality essentials to the weary traveller.
Sister hotel The Chow Kit – an Ormond Hotel won Malaysia’s Best Boutique for the third consecutive year, after being crowned one of the best city hotels in Malaysia by Travel + Leisure magazine in its Luxury Asia Pacific awards in June. The Chow Kit opened its doors in December 2019 to critical acclaim, winning Best Hotel Renovation & Restoration and Best Visual Identity at the 2021 AHEAD Awards alongside industry bigwigs like Aman Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Capella Hotel Group. The Chow Kit – an Ormond Hotel has become part of the fabric of downtown Kuala Lumpur, attracting contemporary travellers who appreciate the notion of simplified luxury and modern comfort.
The Tune and Ormond brands operate under parent company Ormond Group – independent Southeast Asian hospitality owners and operators – together with MoMo’s, a boutique hotel brand focused on programming and community. The Group delivers the uniquely Asian ‘open-house’ concept across a variety of price points through the three distinct brands.
Gareth Lim, CEO of the Ormond Group said, “Receiving these awards is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences. It underscores the dedication and hard work of our exceptional team, who consistently strive for excellence in every aspect of our operations.”
He added, “As we continue to uphold our vision of creating memorable and exceptional stays, these awards serve as a motivating reminder that our efforts are making a meaningful impact in the world of hospitality.”
