Calling all udon and donburi lovers! There’s a new Japanese restaurant in SS15 that serves a huge variety of udon noodles and rice bowls, called Udon Don. They are backed by Zakuro Japanese Restaurant with more than 20 years experience and Udon Don is an upcoming brand under Zakuro to provide authentic Japanese udon & donburi at affordable prices. Here, you can expect interesting twists to regular Japanese food, such as the Curry Cheese and Carbonara Udon! Paired with a relaxing ambience, this place is perfect for a casual, easy-going meal.
Most Popular Dishes At Udon Don
One of the most interesting dishes here is the Curry Cheese Udon. It’s exactly like what it sounds like – a handful of udon noodles doused with a mixture of Japanese curry and Mozzarella cheese! Another must try udon item is the Carbonara Udon that’s made with smoked duck and dashi powder to give it its distinct smoky flavour.
If udon noodles aren’t your thing, you can opt for their selection of Donburi (rice bowls) too! Out of all the different varieties they have, Udon Don recommends the classic Beef Don and Katsu Don. The Beef Don is made with Australian Tenderloin strips boiled in a beef broth base, and the Katsu Don is fried boneless chicken with a sauce blend of kombu and katsuobushi broth.
Those that want a meal with a little bit of everything, may look into the variety of Value Sets which comes with 1 main course, 2 side dishes and miso soup. Their signature Value Set Sukiyaki is a must-try item. It comes with a bowl of tender boneless chicken or beef, mushrooms and vegetables all boiled in a sweet and savoury sukiyaki sauce, miso soup and rice. Additionally, the set is served with two sides which will rotate depending on its day, but items like takoyaki and chuka hotate can be expected.

Matcha lovers rejoice! They have a huge selection of matcha items from drinks to soufflés’ available! The Iced Matcha Latte is made with homemade ice-cream using pure matcha powder and their soufflé is warm, soft and creamy!
