
Pizza lovers assemble! Local pizzeria brand US Pizza Malaysia is in search of a brand new name, and it needs your help in deciding. Since the recent debate on the brand as referring to the United States and indirectly supporting Israel, US Pizza has come up with a creative way to find a new moniker.
US Pizza Launches Petition to Change Name to ‘KITA Pizza’ if More Than 10K Likes and Comments on Its Post

In light of the backlash, the company spoken out to clear up any misconception regarding the meaning of its name. According to the Prima Saujana outlet owner, the term ‘US’ was actually the pronoun ‘us’, symbolizing the spirit of togetherness that the pizza chain aims to cultivate.
“Want Us to Change Our Name?”

Taking it a step further, the company has released a Facebook post proposing a new name – KITA Pizza. The word ‘Kita’ is direct Malay translation of ‘us’, implying their move to emphasize the local brand ownership.
The post hinted that the renaming would be made official if it were to gain 10,000 likes and comments. So far, they’ve managed to garner 2000 likes and 493 comments in total.

Meanwhile many users teasingly commented to alter the company’s logo to include stars, and even suggested alternative names like ‘Ours’ Pizza. One of the popular names that kept popping up in the comments was ‘Untuk Semua’, which inspired US Pizza to toss in an extra treat.

In addition to their name search campaign, they’ve also rolled out their latest Buy 1 Free 1 Promotion! “Someone said, ‘Untuk Semua’. And we heard you guys!” another subsequent post read. They further added RM1 from every purchase would go into proceeds towards a Palestinian humanitarian fund.
