We Went On A Food Adventure At LaLaport BBCC & Had Eat-All-You-Can Premium Japanese Buffet, Baby Tomahawk & More!

LaLaport BBCC, one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest shopping centres, is a central hub for foodies who enjoy various cuisines. We were intrigued by the vast choices available and figured we should check out the latest dining scene! From a two-hour premium Japanese buffet and free flow beer, to Western delights such as a gorgeous Baby Tomahawk steak, here’s everything we managed to devour at LaLaport BBCC.

Hut Sake

This unsuspecting spot will teleport you to Japan from the moment you set foot into the restaurant to the second your lips touch their delicious offerings. They are the first premium à la carte buffet in Malaysia to serve free-flow unagi, caviar, sashimi platters and more seafood pleasures! The seafood is also imported from Japan of course, for added authenticity.

The interior is absolutely stunning, with bright scarlet neon signs adding spice to the restaurant. They employ an open kitchen concept too, so you may gleefully admire the chefs as they prepare your dishes.

Dive into their extravagant freshly-prepared platters (complete with dry ice for the wow-factor), such as:

Finish off your meal with some Häagen-Dazs ice cream!

It’s a 2-hour-long feast, so be sure to reserve some space in your bellies before you go. We even had to unzip our jeans by the end of the meal! They offer both lunch and dinner buffets, where you can sip on free-flow beer and cocktails for lunch, plus sake for dinner.

Was it worth it? To that we say, yes!

Hookie Dookie

Next, we saw this interesting lounge and bar with an artistic yet cosy interior and decided to go for round two of our food adventure. Upon walking in, the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly with a keen eye for our needs.

At Hookie Dookie, they highlight both Western and Asian cuisines so you’ll have the best of both worlds! There’s even a set lunch menu starting from RM15.90 that includes a main dish, dessert, soup of the day and soft drink, plus Happy Hour for an array of beers before 8pm.

Here’s what we tried from their main menu:

Baby Tomahawk

This is 100% for the ultimate meat lover – perfectly medium rare 800g-1000g grilled tomahawk with bone, topped with herb butter and served with grilled baby lettuce, baked potato, Brussels sprouts, and black pepper sauce or  mushroom sauce.

Surf & Turf

If you crave meat and seafood, why not have both? Their surf & turf comes with grilled beef tenderloin, tiger prawns, Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes, served with black pepper sauce.

Soft Shell Crab w/ Salted Egg Pasta

This pasta dish is a fusion favourite you won’t be able to resist – it has linguine, salted egg, curry leaves, garlic, red cili padi and is served with deep fried soft shell crab.

Mutton Masala

Indian pizza? Yes please! The dough base is made from scratch in-house and is smothered in curry sauce, mozzarella cheese, mutton, onion and curry leaves.

Nasi Lemak w/ Percik Chicken

Of course, you can’t miss out on your classic Malaysian dish! Hookie Dookie’s Nasi Lemak is served with coconut-flavoured basmathi rice, whole percik chicken leg, sliced cucumber, peanuts, anchovies, hard boiled egg and housemade anchovy sambal.

Overall, the portions are humongous and truly give you your money’s worth. We left with our bellies happy and hearts full.
