Bowery Petit

Cr: @boonseonglim

We’ve seen charcoal, beetroot and matcha bagel, but rainbow bagel?! We’re sensing some unicorns running in the background. Bowery Petit is a place well-known for their pastries and recently, they’ve launched rainbow bagel. Inspiration taken from the US, it’s a sinful loaded cream cheese with sprinkles squished between two colorful toasty bagel bun. If this is not some unique dining experience in KL pastry/ dessert wise, we don’t know what it is.

2D

Bubble milk tea fans where ya guys at? We know the bubble milk tea scene in Malaysia, especially in SS15 might be a little overwhelming. Hear us out as this is different. 2D cafe is a brand new concept whereby it resembles a comic scene. Every corner of 2D is hand painted to bring you that illusion of falling into a 2D black and white world. Not just that, their bubble milk tea and food also blends in with the 2D scene. Speaking of some unique dining experience in KL, 2D is sure unforgettable.

Heli Lounge Bar

Essentially a rooftop dance club with an aeronautical theme, Heli Lounge Bar is a popular spot for some unique dining experience in KL. Nestled on the 34th floor, head up to the helipad when the weather allows. It has a stunning 360 view of the city which is fairly uninterrupted by the other skyscrapers around. Price is a little steep but worth every penny considering the view one gets.

Submarine Restaurant Scorpene II

KL is full of surprises, with unique dinings everywhere. If you stumbled upon a submarine-like restaurant in the middle of the city, fret not. It’s the Submarine Restaurant Scorpene II, where it’s built to resemble an actual submarine, even the interiors. They have 3 floors, each with a different theme and of course we would recommend the roof. Submarine serves different cuisines like Malay, Indian, Western and Fusion, it’s basically Malaysian representation in a submarine. We did a video on it, so visit our Facebook page for the visuals.

El Cerdo KL

Cr: @jasleenlcl

El Cerdo calls for those looking for a feast, piggy feasts. An entire restaurant specializing in pork, El Cerdo is a Spanish tribute to its culture and tradition. Here, you can indulge in some of the best pork knuckles, pork ribs and roasted piglet. They have a ritual for piglets though, let us explain. You’re required to cut them piglets not by knife but by plate. Hit the plate 3 times before aiming for the best 2 cuts. After that, break the plate in a designated bin. Mind-blowing? El Cerdo is sure one of the most cultural, unique dining experience in KL, especially if you’re a porky fan.

We need not much introduction on this as we bet most KL people are no stranger to Dining in the Dark. In fact, we featured them last year on one of our articles. As the name suggests, your dining experience would be pitch black. No phones, no gadgets, nothing. The only thing you’ll experience is through your palate. You know what they say when your eyes are covered, your other senses maximizes? This is one of the objectives of Dining in The Dark. Plus, the guides in there are vision-impaired.
