AirAsia Announces That Domestic Flights Will Resume As MCO Ends

With the third phase of the MCO kicking in strong, everyone is hoping that this will ultimately be the last phase to eventually curb the Covid-19 outbreak. Of course, it means that businesses are gradually returning to life after more than a month-long of hibernation. With that, AirAsia is on board in resuming its domestic routes right after the third phase of MCO ends.

According to the airline’s news release, not all domestic routes will be open on the open immediately. AirAsia will be resuming key selected domestic routes first before gradually increasing to other routers. These destinations include Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Miri and Sibu. You can now start booking for flights to these destinations starting from 29th April.

Besides that, international destinations will gradually open up as well, once the situation improves and governments lift border and travel restrictions. AirAsia will also be resuming its domestic flights in Thailand, Philippines, India and Indonesia in the beginning of May.

Even though you may be allowed to travel soon, it certainly doesn’t mean you should put your guard down. AirAsia has reinforced that its guests to take on precautionary measures. This includes wearing face masks, social distancing and adopting great personal hygiene. Apart from that, all of AirAsia’s aircrafts are fitted with hospital-standard High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters and will also be sent for a thorough disinfection after each flight.

Stay Safe & Vigilant While Travelling

With the ramadan starting soon, many will be travelling back to respective hometowns in the following month. Let’s all just be mindful and still practice top personal hygiene as much as possible. There’s no say in what will happen after the third phase ends, but here’s to hoping that the curve will be flattened and the virus is under control by then. Till then, stay home and stay safe guys!
