Cinemas In All States Will Be Allowed To Reopen Starting This Thursday, Sept 9

Cinemas Nationwide To Reopen For Fully-Vaccinated Individuals

This just announced by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob that cinemas in all states in Malaysia will be allowed to reopen starting from Thursday, 9 September 2021. However, only fully-vaccinated individuals and 50% of capacity are allowed.

Besides that, a number of relaxed SOPs for the creative industry have been announced as well and will take into effect starting from 9 September. Those include pre-taped and live broadcasts, shows with a live audience, live musicals, theatre and comedy performances at a venue are all allowed but with a capacity of 30%. Indoor busking is also allowed.

Art exhibitions, galleries and museums will also be allowed at 30% capacity. Apart from that, initiatives and programmes planned by the communications and multimedia ministry through the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia, MyCreative Ventures and the Arts and Culture Economic Development Agency will also resume.

Follow Strict SOPs & Get Vaccinated If Haven’t

If you’re fully-vaccinated and thinking of enjoying these relaxed perks, do remember to still follow all SOPs as required. Put on a double mask and constantly sanitize your hands. If you’ve yet to get vaccinated, it’s highly advisable to do so. Stay safe and take care.
