Caretaker PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced today that fully vaccinated individuals under Phase 1 States are allowed to dine-in starting tomorrow, 20 August 2021. The statement that was released via his official Facebook page, states the relaxation of certain SOPs including sports, recreational activities and opening of night markets.
Dine-In Allowed For Phase 1 States
Malaysians must show their COVID-19 vaccination digital certificate prior to entering the restaurants. Also, couples who are fully-vaxxed are allowed to bring children aged 17 years and below, complying to all SOPs. To prepare for this, he advises restaurant owners to provide more outdoor dining space for ventilation.
What Does Fully Vaccinated Mean?
- Vaccines that require two doses of injection (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac): Individuals must wait 14 days from the second dose of injection.
- Vaccines that require one dose of injection (Johnson & Johnson, Cansino): Individuals must wait 28 days from the day of injection.
