For some of us, we can’t wait to go out again to see our friends and catch up. And for the rest of us, we can’t wait to head out and eat our favourite food. IKEA Has Revealed Their Famous Swedish Meatballs Recipe So You Can Make Them At Home

Everyone can agree that no trip to IKEA is complete without having a portion of their iconic Swedish meatballs. It is almost ritualistic. As we are under the MCO, plenty of you are probably missing your meatball fix. Sure, IKEA is offering food delivery but things just got a whole lot more interesting because now you can even make those delicious meatballs at home. Check out the long-awaited recipe below!

Here’s How To Make IKEA’s Famous Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients (Meatballs):

  • 500g beef mince
  • 250g pork mince* (see below for Halal version)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic (crushed or minced)
  • 100g breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons whole milk
  • generous salt and pepper

*Halal version: substitute with 250g chicken mince or use 750g beef mince

Here’s How To Make IKEA’s Cream Sauce To Go With Your Meatballs

Ingredients (Cream Sauce):

  • dash of oil
  • 40g butter
  • 40g plain flour
  • 150ml vegetable stock
  • 150ml beef stock
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 150ml thick double cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

We are so glad that IKEA has revealed the recipe for their famous Swedish meatballs because now we can have IKEA stay-at-home dinners. In an interview, Lorena Lourido, the Country Food Manager at IKEA also said, “We know that some people might be missing our meatballs, which is why we’ve released an at-home alternative which, using easily accessible ingredients, will help those looking for some inspiration in the kitchen.” She is absolutely right and we can’t wait to give this recipe a go.
