Malaysia boleh!

Malaysian food has been amongst the most diverse cuisines in the world, but it’s always reassuring to receive the recognition it deserves. In case you’ve not heard of Eater, it’s an American food website that’s renowned worldwide, therefore being put on the map feels like an honour to us Malaysians albeit unsurprised. Of course, we can all agree that the pride of our country is its colourful, multicultural cuisine- from nasi lemak, char kuey teow, roti canai to curry laksa, banana leaf and more!

13 cities have made Eater’s list this year:

  1. Guadalajara, Mexico
  2. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  3. Saint-Martin, Caribbean
  4. San Antonio, Texas
  5. Markham, Canada
  6. St. Louis, Missouri
  7. Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  8. Clarkston, Georgia
  9. Mallorca, Spain
  10. Orange County, California
  11. Nantes, France
  12. Buenos Aires, Argentina
  13. Berkshires, Massachusetts

With our country’s culinary scene ranging from hawker street food to fine dining, Eater’s writer Ian Poh Jin Tze has noted that KL’s vibrant food scene is even better and stronger than before the dreaded MCO lockdown. He successfully cited the diverse varieties KL has to offer, listing food spots beyond the city centre such as in Damansara, Cheras, Klang, Kapar and Sekinchan too.

Here are some of Kuala Lumpur’s must-eat places according to Eater:
