First off, it’s pretty impossible for us, Malaysians, to see the word Char Koay Teow and ignore it completely. So, we caved. And thankfully, we did. The Char Koay Teow Tsunami offers a wetter version of the usual goreng dish and is jam-packed with flavours in every bite. Slightly spicy but nothing anyone can’t take, it can easily be your new go-to midnight supper food.

2. De’Danau Grill

Next up, is the Nasi Lemak Lamb Chop is another must-try. Offering juicy and tender lamb chop grilled to utter perfection, that is already enough to complete our day. But pair it with nasi lemak and (real) spicy sambal – it’s a match made in heaven. This western fusion dish is one not to miss out on when you’re here.

3. Pasta La Pasta

There’s something about pasta from food trucks that always hit the spot that restaurant pastas can’t. Pasta La Pasta specialises in all things pasta and you have to give their Macaroni & Cheese a go. Topped off with plenty of steaming hot cheddar cheese, you’ll satisfy all your cheese cravings in just this one dish. Perfect on a rainy day in the city.

4. Maxcito

If you’re still on the train of cheesy goodness, then head on over to Macxito food truck for all a Mexican food galore. From cheesy burritos to cheesy fries, they got you covered for days. We tried their Cheezzy Nacho with beef and, boy oh boy, it’s deliciously messy. Plentiful ingredients spread over with tons of cheese, it’s definitely worth getting your hands dirty for.

5. It’s Takoyaki Time

Craving for something lighter or just something to share with your friends, then takoyaki is the food to get! It’s Takoyaki Time serves up different variations of takoyaki that’s worth drooling for. Squid Takoyaki is their crowd-favourite, so say no more, we had to get it. Crispy on the outside, each takoyaki ball is filled with large chunk of squid! This is definitely a snack worth buying!

6. Walla Walla

Next on the list is this food truck that serves up all things fried. Doesn’t matter whether it’s chicken or mushrooms, they’re all fried up and ready to snack on. Their popular fried snack item includes Cendawan Menawan and Mari-mari Calamari. Dip them into your choice of mayo or thai chilli sauce, and bite into the crunchy fried bits that you may get addicted to.

7. Tokyo Burger

Bringing gourmet burgers on wheels, you can now have your dose of Japanese Fusion hamburgers here! Trust The Tokyo Burger to give the people nice and juicy burgers with incredibly tender patties. They had even taken 3rd place in the Burger Championship at KL Burger Fest last year! Opt for their Gojira Chicken Burger for some spicy kick that’ll leave you wanting more.

8. GoGung On Wheels

Last food item on this list, we can’t end it without including some fried chicken, especially if it’s Korean Spicy Chicken from GoGung On Wheels. Deep fried chicken, drenched heavily in spicy Korean sauce. We can’t help but to borrow a famous quote and describe it as Finger Lickin’ Good.

Urban street food dining is not complete without some large drinks to wash down your food with. And nothing beats the refreshing mango shakes at First Order. Almost all regulars head down to this food truck for one of the best mango shakes in town. We wanted more mango fruits to go with our shake, so we ordered the Milky Mango. And no regrets were made.

10. Hauslah

Quench your thirst with Hauslah’s range of avocado shakes. Now healthy drinks with the mix of avocados taste so much better than it already does. They even have their own concoction of avocado shakes. Our favourite is definitely their Avocado Sago Gula Melaka. Tasting similarly like cendol with the mix of gula melaka, it’s definitely the drink to have for after-meal desserts.
