Yesterday, 2 national cycling track aces from Malaysia raced past opponents in the  Tokyo Olympics 1/16 Finals Repechages. Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom have made it into the 1/8 Finals for the men’s sprint event. Now you can watch them cycle live here.

Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang born in Dungun, Terrenganu is nicknamed “The Pocket Rocketman” due to his small stature. He is also the first Malaysian cyclist to win a medal at the Summer Olympics.

Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom from Kuala Selangor was raised in Johor. He is most notable for winning the 2021 Australian Track National Championship in the keirin event. He defeated fellow compatriot Azizulhasni Awang.
