Another day, another sad news of a well-loved eatery bidding farewell. Last week we saw the likes of PJ folk’s favourite Nyonya hidden gem saying goodbye. This week, a popular Vietnamese restaurant chain has closed all of its outlets effective immediately.
Pho Street Ceases Its Businesses Effective Immediately
According to the post on their social media pages, Pho Street had announced on 22nd Sept that they have ceased operations at all outlets in Malaysia on that day. It had a total of six outlets spread across the Klang Valley. Most of it located at large shopping malls like IOI Mall, Sunway Velocity, EkoCheras Mall and more. They proceeded to thank fellow patrons for supporting them.
The franchise that specialised in various Vietnamese street food and known for its flavourful Beef Pho noodles certainly had left a good impression on their patrons. It first landed in Malaysia 5 years ago but unfortunately, it could not withstand nearly two years of the pandemic and lockdowns.
It certainly came as a surprise for some as it was still on available on GrabFood and takeaway at some of its outlets. Meanwhile, you can still find Pho Street outlets overseas, in Singapore and Indonesia. Since the posting, several patrons have commented on the saddening news on Pho Street’s post.
Support Your Favourite Local Eateries
It’s no doubt that times are hard, especially having to endure lockdowns and temporary closing due to the increase of daily cases previously. Now that things are slowly looking up, maybe we can show our support to our favourite local eateries more so than ever.
