During today’s press conference, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced that all food & beverage outlets as well as food delivery services will be allowed to operate until 6AM for the entire month of Ramadan fasting month, starting 13th April.

This includes restaurants, food stalls and fast food outlets. However, the operating hours of eateries in shopping malls will depend on the mall’s operating hours instead. Ismail Sabri had mentioned that the temporary change of operating hours will make it more convenient for people to get their pre-dawn meals (sahur) before fasting in the following month.

Besides that, Ismail Sabri also mentioned that “buka puasa” events and Ramadan buffets will be allowed under strict SOPs. For areas under CMCO, the event can only occupy 50% of the venue’s capacity while areas under RMCO can allow full capacity but with social distancing.
