Up for trying something different in the city? No one pass up the chance to get a taste of some authentic Korean food, especially when we’re all still dreaming of travelling one day. This hidden Korean restaurant is definitely where you should head to for a unique dining experience with rare to find Korean seafood dishes!
Authentic Korean Restaurant That Serves Up Lots Of Rare To Find Seafood Dishes In KL
Calling all seafood lovers, near and far, if you’ve always wondered how an authentic Korean seafood feast is like – Sakunja has it all! One thing you must try here is their Fresh Small Octopus Soup. The ahjumma here will prepare the live octopus soup right at your table, so you know that it’s surely the freshest. The light and refreshing seafood soup comes with a whole octopus, clams and loads of veggies.
Have a more adventurous palate? Then you can’t miss out on the huge array of raw seafood dishes they have to offer. The Bossam Set of Wrap With Oyster is one for all the oyster lovers out there. Boiled pork slices are paired with fresh oyster and spicy bancan then wrapped with a piece of lettuce. Surprisingly, everything pairs well together in a one full bite.
Up next, if you’re a fan of Korean food then you may know that they’re big on marination. Similarly, at Sakunja, you can find a selection of marinated raw seafood, just like the Yeo-Su Soy Sauce Marinated Crab. But if marinated raw seafood ain’t your cup of tea, you can definitely go for their Jeju Tile Fish. Both dishes are perfect when paired with a piping hot bowl of rice.
Aside from seafood, there are of course other non-seafood dishes you can get here. Try out their Ginseng Chicken Soup* made using whole chicken and loads of ginseng that’s pressure-cooked for several hours. After that, get a dose of their Ginseng Chicken Porridge made with the same soup for the ultimate comfort food. Pair it with their Mix Pancake for that savoury taste of seafood-filled pancakes.
*Have to order at least an hour beforehand.
One thing not to miss here at Sakunja is the generous servings of banchan (side dishes)! You can get up to 15 refillable banchans, all of which are made in-house by the ahjumma. You can also get a taste of all these amazing banchan with their daily set meals too.
