That’s right, it is more than just a town that is housing several universities. 1. Shop for discounted books in the wee hours

It is time to ditch online shopping and head down to BookXcess, located at Tamarind Square. The 24 hours bookstore is super big – we are talking about 37,000 square feet! That’s a lot of books, and all of ’em are heavily discounted, all day every day. Its wide collection includes fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. Journals and stationeries can be found here too! Oh, did we mention that there’s an in-house cafe too? Books and coffee sound like the best combination. Happy reading, guys!

2. Go paintballing with your friends

Heading to the bookstore is something that you can sit back and relax, going to a paintball field is the total opposite. If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, Cyberjaya Paintball Park is the perfect place for you. Recreational packages prices start at RM 50. 3. Explore an enormous and picturesque park

There are so many things that you can do in a park. Picnic, fishing, cycling, and jogging – just to name a few! Cyberjaya Lake Gardens isn’t your average garden. The beautiful park houses a huge lake that is great for fishing. If you’re lucky, you will get to see some black swans swimming by as well! Don’t take our words for it, check the reviews in any platforms, it’s skyrocket!

4. Sing your heart out in a fun karaoke spot

Nothing feels better than belting out your favourite songs with your fam bam! Tucked in Shaftsbury Square, Bonavox has been around for a couple of years. The 35 rooms available guarantee state-of-the-art sound and karaoke system to project your voice. Wink wink. Rooms include one super VIP room that can accommodate up to 45 people! It is not karaoke, it is a concert! Price starts at RM 10.90 per person.

5. Twirl around in an ice skating rink

There are not many ice skating rink around in Malaysia. Lucky for us, there’s one located in IOI City Mall at Putrajaya! If you are dreaming of twirling around like Anna and Elsa from Frozen, here’s a good spot to actually do it! Icescape Ice Rink is super big, so there’s enough room for plenty of friends. Oh, remember to wear long pants ’cause you wouldn’t want your legs to freeze!

#teamspirit! Compete with your friends in a friendly match of bowling! If battling it out is not for you, you can always play it leisurely. Bowling is a sport that many Malaysians are fond of. However, we believe that it can very tricky to strike. Whenever the bowling ball ends up in the gutters, it will always evoke a good laugh. Head over to Wangsa Bowl at IOI City Mall!

7. Go for wakeboarding classes at a serene lake

Well, it is not so serene when you start wakeboarding. Hehe. If you haven’t heard of wakeboarding before, it is a water sport whereby the a rider stands on a short board with foot bindings, and towed by a motorboat! Interesting yes? Marina Putrajaya offers other activities such as waterski, sailing, and flyboards. Yes, flyboards are the ones that went viral on the Internet.

8. Sightseeing at Malaysia’s largest constructed freshwater wetlands

Surely, it is a sight to see! Putrajaya houses the largest constructed freshwater wetlands in the tropics. Known as the Putrajaya Wetlands Park, the first man-made wetland includes Wetland Park and wetland areas. Similar to #3, there are a lot of activities that you can do with your fam bam. We are talking about evening jogs, jungle trekking, cycling, and many more!

9. See the Instagram-worthy bridges

Believe it or not, the bridges in Putrajaya are very Instragram-worthy. In fact, people travel near and far just to take photographs of them. Our personal favourite is Seri Wawasan Bridge! The modern design combines cables and steels together. At night time, there are even changing lights. Super colourful! Some other bridges you need to check out include Seri Perdana Bridge, Seri Saujana Bridge, Seri Gemilang Bridge, and Putra Bridge.

10. Check out Malaysia’s national monument

Have you seen it? It is a beauty! Inspired by Washington Monument located in the United States, the Millennium Monument is 68 meters tall! As it is a public space, it is open for 24 hours. Yup, you can see it at 2:00 a.m. in the morning if you want to. Visitors mentioned that it is a good place for a short walk, snap some photographs, and even a picnic. Oh, you can learn one or two things about our history as well!
