#2 Tiger Sugar

By deannawoo

If Tiger sugar’s anywhere near sight, then there’ll be a queue at sight. Jump back on the bubble tea bandwagon with Tiger Sugar, famously known for their Brown Sugar Boba Milk Cream Mousse. Comprising of brown sugar syrup drizzled all around the cup like “tiger stripes” hence the name and a mix of gigantic chewy tapioca pearls (boba) & tinier pearls, with a layer of cream mousse atop, it’s recommended to give the drink 15 shakes to blend it perfectly so they say. Alley or Tiger Sugar?

Incorporating Malaysian flavours into their beverages, treat yourself to boba from scratch and the use of natural sugar like our favourite Gula Melaka or real black sugar instead of glucose solution cuz nothing makes you feel better than knowing what goes inside is supporting the idea of ‘my body is a temple’. Yumcha is serving to make you feel healthier. Are you gonna fall for it is the question? Not to mention, aesthetically Insta-pleasing!

While personally finding it overrated, many others would come at me as these Taiwanese bubble tea joint has bloomed all over the world and gaining fans for one reason: bubbles in brown sugar milk tea. With the tapioca pearls and cane sugar syrup made from scratch, let’s see if they’ve got what it takes to defeat Tiger Sugar, shall we!
