If Tiger sugar’s anywhere near sight, then there’ll be a queue at sight. Jump back on the bubble tea bandwagon with Tiger Sugar, famously known for their Brown Sugar Boba Milk Cream Mousse. Comprising of brown sugar syrup drizzled all around the cup like “tiger stripes” hence the name and a mix of gigantic chewy tapioca pearls (boba) & tinier pearls, with a layer of cream mousse atop, it’s recommended to give the drink 15 shakes to blend it perfectly so they say. Soaking of attractive looking drinks, Moojicha is serving us their signature known as Kao Ne Ne consisting unlike other, handmade white crystal bubbles drowned in milk tea topped with black sugar torched for a hint of smoky flavour and aroma sweeping our way as we sip! Our personal favourites here are the matcha macchiato, margarita cactus and unicorn latte.
Incorporating Malaysian flavours into their beverages, treat yourself to boba from scratch and the use of natural sugar like our favourite Gula Melaka or real black sugar instead of glucose solution cuz nothing makes you feel better than knowing what goes inside is supporting the idea of ‘my body is a temple’. After 10 years in Guangdong, China, Zododo decided to make its way to Malaysia’s shores and we couldn’t be happier with their decision! Zododo is a hit with their Cheese Milk Tea yet some of their our favourites include avocado, kumquat and cheese jasmine.
#8 Cha Wan Jia Tea Bubble
A hit among students due to it’s to its strategic location, swing by this bubble tea joint for some unique flavour coloured boba pearls with some of their names like dragon fruit pearl and rainbow pearls sounding very Katy Perry-ish surely guaranteeing Instagram moments! Our personal favourite would be their pink Sakura pearls inspired by the spring cherry blossom season in Japan.
